This is such a generous idea. Communities grow stronger when we celebrate each other’s work instead of competing for attention. Wishing this directory every success.

I would like to join and participate in your site. I write mostly formal poetry, including sonnets, a pantoum, common metre, etc. So how do I submit? Thanks.

Absolutely! Thank you so, so much for reaching out! You submit by commenting your work or sending your poetry to the Directorate’s subscriber chat. I will be checking out your work too!

Love it! I’d love to be involved, as time allows. I’ll admit, not all my poetry is strictly formal, as I began primarily with “spoken-word” poetry (which generally rhymes, but is loose on structure), but over the years my writing has become more formalized. I have several pieces that fit in these categories, some already published on Substack, and some scheduled in the coming weeks, along with other forms that aren’t listed (my alliterative verse poem on Cædmon comes to mind.)

I know some of the authors here, and will have to check out the work of those authors on this list I am unfamiliar with.

Some of these poets I've read, some are hitherto unknown to me. I will definitely make sure to take a look at each one! Thanks for sharing, and for including my own poetry here!

Happy to include your work! I admire and appreciate your dedication to the sonnet form. The world needs more sonnetiers for sure!

Brooklyn, you are off to a fantastic start, with Issue #1 of your Poetry Directory. I have enjoyed reading this immensely, just as I always have everything and anything else you have posted or published.

And Bravo to all poets herein! Beautiful, beautiful poetry. Masterful work!

What a pleasurable read today. I thank you, all of you, for it.

Thanks for this, I've been posting formal poems and translations in my notes and most of my posts explore other peoples' formal poems, such as my most recent, "Let Rhyme Take Control"
